Good basics start
with good values

We care about how our gear’s made and the impact it has on our world - from the cotton in the ground to the people who turn it into something you’ll wear for years.

Our BASIS range is made with the help of our long-term mates in India. They’ve spent decades figuring out how to make great clothes while doing right by people and the planet.

About a third of their power now comes from solar, and they’ve built one of the largest water recycling plants in the industry. The water they use is treated and reused again and again, so hardly any goes to waste. They also supply their local city with all the recycled water so that their community benefits as well.

The cotton they work with is grown by over 40,000 local farmers who are part of the Better Cotton Initiative. It’s a global initiative that helps farmers use less water and fewer chemicals, and take better care of their soil. It’s not just about the crops. It helps farming families earn a steadier income, send their kids to school, and build safer, stronger communities.

That same care carries through everywhere. In their workplaces, people are paid fairly, work in safe conditions, and have chances to learn and grow. In their communities, programs support clean water, healthcare, and opportunities for women to build their own futures. It’s all done with care and long-term thinking. They are really proud of all the work they are doing for staff and local communities, and we in turn are proud of working with them.

Our EVERYDAY range is also made by some long term mates in China. We have worked closely with this supplier for decades, and when his son decided to follow in his dads footsteps to open his own factory we were first in line to get our gear made there.

The bags we send your orders in have had quite a journey.

Packed with POLLASTI!C

They started out as plastic waste collected from beaches and coastal communities where recycling systems don’t always exist. That plastic was sorted, cleaned, and given a second life as the mailers we use today.

They’re made from POLLAST!C, a material created by people working to stop ocean-bound plastic before it gets there. Every step of the process helps clean up coastlines and provides fair work for the locals who collect and sort it.

If you look closely, you might spot tiny bumps in the bag. Those little marks are called inclusions. But really, they’re traces of the plastic’s past life. We like them. They’re proof that something once discarded has found a better purpose.
